[Bongo]

16th Ave E - oil and ink on (very) cheap 12"x12" stretched canvas

This was an experiment painting on a $1 canvas without adding more gesso. Don't do it, the canvas is okay but needs more gesso than it comes with. I also experimented with using alcohol inks as a glaze. Only had yellow and used it on the building and greenery. Really brought out the colors.

Great experiment. Keep a watch on the yellow over time and let us know if it stays. Very interesting.

I'm confident the ink will hold, but I'm wondering about fading? Are alcohol inks lightfast?

I like your take on the scene, especially the way you weren’t a slave to the colors of the photo. I’m curious about the inks too and hope they won’t fade.
