In the light of my less than pleasant experience with wetcanvas not a very attractive option. Your expression "we soldier on" does not give the impression you people solved the mess you were in.
That's would be pity. I just stuck my nose in here again, looking to participate more again (have been in a bit of an art slump lately).

No boat camp here, I appreciate the sense of tranquility that radiates from your painting. I also really like the pattern of the waves I think a boat would distract from that.

Most art supplies but especially paper/sketchbooks need a certain incubation time before they get used by me.
I feel rather silly about it but that doesn't change the behavior....
Bad news for my plein air ambitions, I live in a very rural part of Iceland, the nearest village has fishing as the main source of income; all we have here are barns & boats....
Agree with Zendruid. Trust your process. It looks promising, and most likely great when it´s finished.
Also I think that "ruler straight" would not really fit with your style anyway.
