WIP

Thank you, laf! I'm hoping to get back on these. I wasn't intending to let them dry this long but I've had a disastrous week. I do have good intentions though. :giggle:
Sorry about your diastrous week ,fingers crossed that you follow through with those good intentions then:D

Only got to paint for a little while, so not much progress but I'm posting to keep myself accountable. :giggle:

We appreciate every post, Sno, no matter how much you get done. Such wonderful depth in the leafy area and the rose is looking good!

I painted just a bit more on the other rose today but still a ways to go on both. I haven't done anything with the leaves on this one yet, I basically just have the shapes set. Hard to make much progress when I can only spend a few minutes here and there. I had to take the photo at a terrible angle to keep the wet paint glare down.

They are a striking pair! What red or reds do you use and how are you darkening them - burnt umber? I would appreciate knowing any of your color mixing methods.

Thanks, Donna! 😊I'm using quinacridone magenta, grumbacher red and highlighting with cad orange, mixed with a bit of grumbacher from place to place. I'm darkening with burnt umber and bohemian green earth. I had to look at the tubes and see what I was using because I just grab what I think will work. :giggle:

I appreciate that, Sno - thanks. That magenta is working so well. I don’t have that color … yet.
