I know what you are saying but ...
in my opinion the foremost tree is fine positioned and so nicely painted .. so perfect to look at that I wouldn't touch it!!
Instead if you wanted to fix the 'problem' it would be easily fixed by touching the tree behind it by adding little bit of grey sky color over the right side and little bit more dark green branches to the left side of the distant tree. Moving it tiny bit to the left, away from the beautiful front tree.
Or you could add some fog (grey) to the area behind the front tree top without touching the beautiful front tree. I think that could be enough even.

This is great! I was reading your first post and thinking how lovely the painting was, and then you saw the background trees and were unhappy. I didn't get it until I saw this -"problem" fixed!
Th composition is definitely stronger because of it. I love your warmer greens in the foreground tree, with the bluer/cooler tones of the remaining ones in the back.
