I thought the first one was too tight so I made another looser version of the first.

I like this just as much as the first one and think it's nice that you got the looseness you were looking for. I especially like the expressive strokes of paint on the pine!

That ominous glow in the background trees to the right of the barn is certainly interesting, and I wonder what's going on in the barn behind the foreground tree that was mentioned so favorably above. Hmmm...
