Venice

This is a loose and very free interpretation in watercolour of an iconic scene showing the Basilica of St. Mary of Health, Venice. It is based on a demo by Kangkan Das, and is on a 270 gsm A3 size Chitrapat watercolour paper (rough). My objective in this painting was only to capture the mood and sense of the setting and not the details of the buildings.

Lovely view of the Basilica over the rooftops. It definitely captures the character of Venice, and the relationship between the city and the water. I really like it.
