The Room, The Souls, The Installation

The project consisted of painting a room with a clear depiction of light and shadows. Then, "the room" was photocopied. The first copy was a background for 2 characters (human or humanoid). They had to be drawn with the correct shading to fit seamlessly in the room. The second copy was a background for an object of choice. It had to be placed in the room to create a connection between the room and the object. Would you try this exercise?

The Room: Acrylic paint on paper (A3)
The Souls: Colouring pencils on paper (glued)
The Installation: Thread (glued)

Unrelated question: How to upload a high-quality image? I used the method "insert image", but I find the quality quite low (despite the original being high-resolution). How can I fix it?

Really interesting. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Hopefully someone else can help re high resolution photos.

Thank you for your feedback. I will be posting more soon :)
It seems like the website is lowering the resolution of the images? I am not sure. I hope there is a solution

Really different, interesting, and very creative art! The site resizes images to 900 pixels wide. Wayne's post came in as I was typing. Other art forums also limit this for storage purposes.

Thank you so much 🫶
I see, that's what I thought. Thank you for the clarification :)

Interesting concept and I like your interpretations very much. Both versions do have a connection to the room. It’s nice to see your work here!

Love the premise and like how the first two paintings are soft gradients, whereas the third has harder lines.

The best way to upload your image is to make sure it's 72 DPI, not 300. There are limits to what people can upload and how many they can upload. We already spend an enormous amount on bandwidth...so the more people upload large files or a lot of them, we have to look at a higher price for hosting the forums.

I should put that in the "rules" and in the technical forum so people know how to change their images from hi-rez to images for the web. Maybe when I'm 100% again.
