11 x 14 inches .. acrylic on paper .. painted yesterday .. alla prima but with multiple breaks for some glazing as I continue to study how to glaze

This is really nice! My limited experience with glazing found it helpful for darkening shadows. Mixing blue into a color to get a shadow effect created mud but a thin glaze on top worked so well. I see some subtle pinks in the flowers and wonder if they are glazes?

Thank you Jade and Donna. Actually the flowers are the only things that aren’t glazed. I’ve learned that the glaze has to be thin enough to read through and applied with the lightest of touch in one direction. When you see it as a film you got it. Sometimes you need a few passes but with acrylic a hair dryer speeds up the process. You can use it to change temp as cold to hot or vice versa, to neutralize, deepen or lighten a passage. This is new to me but exciting. I had to add water to my medium as it was much too thick.

Thanks. It’s a learning curve but very helpful in fixing short comings on the initial painting. Block in, paint, correct or enhance. It’s now 3 steps but I can see a big difference already and I’m still unwrapping the parcel.
