Wow that’s so cool! I like the mosaic look and the way the pieces come together from a distance. How do you keep your piles of paint from drying up? I struggle with that and need to try something else.

Thanks Donna. I mix on the fly and I paint quickly. I pay more attention to value than color. I usually have a mockup for reference which I put together using Adobe and Fotosketch so though it’s not what I would call the finished piece it is a crude map. I find with acrylic I can paint over in short time and I try to stay away from blending. If the values are right two colors side by side work as a gradient to our eyes.
Yes, if you give it viewers distance you get a floral in a pot and a bowl both on a counter top.

Thanks Wayne. I’ll keep trying but darn these paints dry too fast and I can never go back for more of a certain color and spend too much time remixing.

Donna: if you get the value the new color will work with the old so it doesn’t need to be exact.
