The inkwork for this 4" x 5" sketch was one of my early ones last year to bring some steadiness to my hand. I did many ten-minute sketches and this was the seventeenth of them. I also used this series of sketches to learn new ways of representing foliage.

I added the watercolour washes yesterday with the same quick approach.

Nice with the added color. The tree experiment worked. It amazes me sometimes how effective some well-placed scribbles can be.

The feeling of motion and realism in the trees for such a few lines is amaxing I was on holiday a while and am "catching up" on so many things.

Thank you Joy. It was Stephen Travers, an Australian pen and ink artist who, through his demo videos on Youtube, introduced me to this style of sketching - quickly and with fewer lines, and Vanidas Mangathil, a Bengaluru based artist who, through his demo videos, also on Youtube, who helped me shed my inhibitions about painting and choice of colours.
