This is a quick, 4" x 5" pen and ink sketch, done nineteen months ago, using a black ink gel pen. I added the colour washes yesterday.

Balaji, what wonderful detail and perspective. I so look forward to your postings.

Masse, did you mean to start your own thread for this beautiful work? This thread would be for comments of Balaji's work, since he started it.

No, I’m just sharing something with him.

Anyway, I think you should post it in another thread too. Personally, I like a lot your waterside and think it merits its own space as well. :)

Balaji, as usual your washes complement the line work excellently. I specially like the sky (great idea not to make it all blue) and the reflections. I confess I never finish learning from your work.

General forum etiquette could consider it "hijacking" the thread, and disrespectful to the original poster. (Unless the OP asks for examples of your work.) The thread was started for us to comment on the original work, and posting your own is off topic. Everyone sees it, not just Balaji. It could get confusing if others chimed in and posted their art, as that was not the intention of the thread. It shifts focus from the original work.

I’m not interested in starting a thread about the drawing. I wanted to share a drawing with Balaji who has a similar interest. I’m not hijacking the thread. How is it disrespectful to share something?

So, then, call it a matter of etiquette. You could share the image in a thread and post a reference here. Personally I don't care, but in a shared space it is good to acknowledge the community's preferences.

But I’m sharing it with Balaji. I’m not asking for comments. Who makes up these rules? It’s ridiculous.

Generally speaking, it's considered impolite to enter someone else's home and, upon learning their house rules, declare you don't like/understand them, find them ridiculous, and hence will not abide by them. That is what you are doing here.

In further effort not to hijack Balaji's thread, please check your PMs. Thanks.
