2nd of 3 oils I did in 24. The composition is a pastiche of garden I visited in June. I cut thru all the overgrown shrubbery to show a way to the building and bridge, and cleaned up the lake. Wanted the mood to be peace and contentment, as referenced by the hen on a drum. Lots of impasto knife work, but more brush work than previous paintings.

C&C Appreciated. Thanks for looking and All the Best for 2025. Arnie

Oil on Canvas. 24x18 inches.

Arnie, what a contemplative, serene piece. I think it’s lovely. I like your symbolism too with the hen. Gorgeous handling of your paint. I am admiring your trees and foliage. But I also love that bottom left corner. You rendered the little sculptures very nicely amongst the flowering bush and path.
It’s just the scene I would like to go stand and relax in.👏🏻

You accomplished your goal of peace and contentment and then some! I could hang out with that hen and be perfectly happy there. Wonderful painting!

I started with the bottom left corner and largely imagined the rest. The hen intrigued - a quick google later revealed its meaning. Thanks arnie
