Mesas On The Horizon

Perfect coloring on the mesas! That orange-y color against the blue really sparks that part of the horizon.

I watched the craziest spaghetti western a couple of nights ago, and this reminds me of the terrain. I wish I had some still shots from the movie for reference material.

Thanks laika- greatly appreciated- the Southwest is my love - we lived there in AZ and NM for 12 years!

Love the red-brown earth colors. Would love to visit that part of the country someday.

I like the color ambiance. Black lines give some detail to the image.
Do you start with the pen sketch and then you apply color layers? I guess lines are then slightly/partially covered by the color, giving a lighter line sketch.

Thanks classic - I do the ink sketch first, followed by the watery acrylics. Once it is dry, I re-establish some of the lost ink and introduce new ink lines where I feel required.

Thank you very much.
In the past one could do that with Indian ink, now there are more modern means ;)
