This is an approximately 3" x 4" pen and ink sketch based on a photograph by Imansyah Muhamad Putera on Unsplash, and shared by Phil Davies. I used a Pigma Micron 005 and a Geo College Pigment Liner 01 to sketch this.

Phil offered a free download of reference photos for portraits, that he had personally selected. It was too good an offer to pass up. I have decided to sketch every one of those faces over the next few months. But I am focusing less on likeness and more on improving my speed and shading technique, of course in pen and ink without using pencil guidelines.
