I remember reading many years ago that the then prince Charles was at Stone Henge being shown around.
Prince Charles: "Fascinating, fascinating; and what are they doing over there?' pointing at some diggers by the side of the road.
Turns out some local council workmen working on some pipe or other, were about to put a hole in one of the not too distant stones (heel stone?) leading up to the large stone circle. If he hadn't been there to point his finger, it would have come to grief.
