Scavenger Hunt from Life #188: Apr 15- Apr 27

Ai, beautiful place. You did some flowing lines and beautiful colors on the glass and plants. Applause!

Joan, Your Starbucks looks like ours! You did a great job.

Hi everyone! Off to eye doctor. Happy sketching.

Jo, Thanks. That's the problem with Starbucks...they all look alike. I like seeing something new and interesting.

Ned, lol I have to be sneaky sometimes. Jerry doesn't look at a can as a sketch opportunity like I do. But he is good if I remember to tell him not to touch something. Sometimes it is easier to hide it.

Joan - Like the garden image with banks of color.markers than graphite both rear.
Ai - The contour drawing of the motor bike is excellent. You hav3 a nice light touch with cp that takes great advantage of their transparency. The glass work looks beautiful.
Jo - Nice work on the palette.
Hi to all! Think I jinxed myself on drawing but do enjoy looking.

Fletch
Wrote this yesterday and thought I hit send but was sitting waiting this morning.

Fletch, good thing the messages wait for us and don't disappear. Thanks for your comment.

Ai, love the colors in the flame tree. It looks like our autumn colors.

Ai, the flame tree is gorgeous. In real life and especially your sketch.

Joan, looks like you will "win" for the largest wrapped in plastic. Super find!! Always love Grand Central, so nicely don and the train is a wow!

Hi Ned and Fletch!!

I finally sketched. On the porch this morning. Sooooo nice out after rain. Later it was very hot and muggy. In the large Canson Mixed Media sketchbook with a Micron 03 that is out of ink and nib.
Number 2 the last thing you bought - prescription for Gene, brown bag wrapping.
Number 3, person or persons - a couple of walkers with their dog. You couldn't pick them out of a group with my sketch. Ha. Not even the dog.

Joan: Gorgeous in all pieces... such amazing details, depth, colors, and textures... amazing "giant wrappers", love the glowing windows at the Grand Central. the train scene is super too.

Jo: Thanks. Love all great textures you have created with pens. The outdoor persons with the pooch is super cute and the med. bag shape in 3D is so well done.

Robin: Hello... love the lamp and the squirrel.

These drawings aren’t anything to rave about but i will tell you they are fun to do!!

Everyone, thanks for your comments on my sketches.

Jo, that prescription package sketch looks like so many that have passed thru here. lol Love the shading on the bag. Your sketch of the walkers with the dog really captured the essence of their activity. Nicely done!

Robin, I love the squirrel and the chandelier. I hope the squirrel doesn't hope of the page and do some climbing. lol As always, your sketches make me smile. If I had an ironing board in my living room it would probably be covered in art materials. lol Yours looks much better!m :)

Joe, hello to you!

I haven't sketched anything that fits the hunt today, but I was off making art in NYC. I took a workshop this morning given by an artist I know called, "From stories to sketches." We were supposed to be sketching in a lovely city garden but the weather didn't cooperate so we worked indoors instead. We did have a nice view and made the best of the situation. Basically we looked out at Little Island, one of the newer parks in the area and thought about what it reminded us of. Then we sketched something to do with that memory and Little Island, continuing with some journaling about what it made us think of. I'll post mine for you to see...and my story is pretty much all written there.

Hi, joe1lt!

Robin, aww sweet squirrel. Love the light chandelier. Fun to have the ironing board in the living room I haven't ironed in years. I had a wooden ironing board that Gene made for me. Now I have a little one I used for sewing curtains when we moved in this house. Don't sew or iron now. Ha.

Joan, what a fun story to sketch. Wow. In Peru we used to take steaks (from Argentina) and wine to the beach. Didn't take champagne. Sounds like wonderful times and beautiful, fun glasses.

Thanks Joan for the Hunt, maybe I can get in one more. Thanks to all of you for the comments.
