Iris and I are at a hotel in seaside town, called HuaHin, while Tone and Lily visiting grandma in Atlanta. The hotel lobby has some interesting decorations.

#1 small equipment ...a gramophone in cp on an accordion brown craft paper...about 15-20 minutes...

#2 useful ...a chair at their lobby

#3 classic ...candle holders

Ai, thanks for the new list! How fun that you and Iris are having your own mini vacation. Have fun!! I like the sketch of the gramophone from the lobby...nice chair too with the candle holders nearby. The sketch of the girl in the water is great. I hope she and her friend have a good time splashing around.

Hi, Ned!

Hi, Jo. Have fun with the kids.

I hope to post something tomorrow. I'm too tired to take photos of the sketches now.

Ai, aww, have fun. Hope Tone and Lily have a good time, too. The gramophone is very interesting and well done. Fun chair. Classic candleholders for sure. All have nice lines. Love the waterscape and swimmers.

Joan, I know the tired feeling! We will be patient for the sketches.

Hey, Ned.

Jo, thanks for understanding. lol

Ai, fun sea kites. I've never tried anything like that, but it is definitely fun to watch.

Happy Easter to all of you who are celebrating!!!🐰

The NYC Urban Sketchers went to DUMBO (down under the Manhattan Bridge) and their carousel to sketch. It was packed with people since it started out as such a beautiful day. I didn't sketch the carousel, but did a few city scenes.

1 - rocks - watercolors
2 - people
3 - below the bridge

4 - flowers on the side - watercolors and ink

Ai - Love the gramophone. The shading is great. Unique perspective on the chair. Candlestick design looks antique. Was going to ask about the parasailing in first drawing until I saw the second. Looks like everyone is having fun.
Joan - Nice detail in the bridge painting. The building with the green and white awning looks very Roman.

#1 small equipment - foot bath. Ink in sketch book. Same page as coke glass. I know it is not a very good sketch. But I drew! LOL

HI AND HAPPY EASTER TO ALL MY ART FRIENDS.

Joan: Thank you... my sea kite.. should be properly called kitesurfing... I am not good with those hip jargon... Wonderful DUMBO sketches... lovely bridge pillar patterns with many people nearby rocks and watersurface. The front of the cafe seems intricate and you did it so well.

Fletch: Thank you... yes, I look it up and learn that my sea kites should be properly called kitesurfing. Nice to see you sketch with the foot bath. I like how you did the feet dipped under the water surface.

#6 landscape + a bit of swimming pool water...We rent airB_nb as a small condo with 7th floor balcony view of lush garden over a fun pool...20 minutes of directwatercolor.... I really felt overwhelmed trying to simplify this scene...uhm...but I have fun sketching for sure....

Happy Easter!

Didn't really capture the shape, but like Fletch, I drew something today. Even something simple like this has a benefit of feeling calm and peaceful afterwards. From where I was sitting it just looked like some marks on the left side... I didn't realize it was a figure until just now when I looked at the photo. I might try this one again.

Ned: Thanks so much...I agree that I feel good too after sketching something....Love the bell you sketched and the real pic. It has nice patterns.

Fletch, your foot bath sketch made me smile. I love to have my feet pampered so it gives me a little joy to see that. I can live vicariously through your sketch since I'm not due for a pedi yet. lol Hope you and Sharon had a nice Easter.

Ai, thanks. I used artistic license and left out about a thousand people from the sketch by the rocks and bridge.lol I've never seen that area as crowded as it was on Saturday. I guess since the kids were out of school all week and the fact that it was a nice day with rain forecast for Sunday that everyone wanted to get out for the day. I knew there was a special term for the boards with the kites, but I couldn't remember what they were called. Your sketches of the plants and the foliage at the resort are really lovely. I would love to be someplace like that right now. I hope you and Iris are enjoying all it has to offer. Oh, that teapot and the plate with the tiramisu look so tempting!!! Care to share?

Ned, nice job on the bell. I see the design of the figure. Sometimes the designs get so worn it is so difficult to realize what it actually is. Where were the bellsl located?

Ai - Your view of the pool, even “simplified” looks pretty lush in vegetation. Looks like a great relaxing resort. When I initially scrolled down to the photo of the two pots I thought for a moment it was another painting. Seeing your painting made me realize it was not. I think it was the unusual glossy highlights on the pots and the floral painting on the ground that look like watercolor washes that gave the impression of it being a painting. I am with Joan on wanting to share the tiramisu. The tea set looks antique n

Nick - You may not have known it was a figure but if you look you captured the curved shadows pretty well. The whole structure does look like an interesting subject for a painting.

Thanks to all for very kind comments.
Fletch
