Scavenger Hunt from Life #186: Mar 22 - Apr 3

Ai, good find for triangular and trees. What a fine place to have breakfast. Looks good.

I finally took a few minutes on the porch this morning. Nice but a bit damp so you feel cool after a while. I've sketched this tree more than a few times. Just coming out from the winter.
Number 1 tree - in the large Mixed Media Canson sketchbook with Micron 03. I too got tired of making leaves. I was going to do the second tree to the left.

Jo, thanks. The digital colors worked well for the pepper.

Ai, my hands hurt just thinking about all the inking for those leaves. Nice capture of the triangular piece of the thatched roof. What is in the bowl?

Hi, Ned.

This was outside the Long Island Maritime Museum. It was made in 1896 for the U.S. Lighthouse in South Portland, Maine.

This vehicle was parked along the edge of a small parking area. It seems to be a floating Tiki Bar that is heading back to wherever it belongs for the summer.

Thanks so much Ned and Jo.

Jo: Wonderful tree. I have been admiring your ink-sketches, esp. the trees and shrubs. I am learning.

Joan: Thanks. In the bowl was noodle with minced pork, pork balls, and crispy wonton, with some broth. Super job on the floating tiki bar on wheels... lovely giant historical bell, nicely done animals.

Ai -- the tea is great, and miss Lily is pretty good! That cat cafe is wild, you did good catching the animals. Any animal I try to draw moves as soon as I've got some ink on the page :)

Joan -- the St Patrick's day one is great. Your response to Ai made me laugh. You weren't trying to fit and not be noticed by wearing a giant green hat with a buckle??! Love the blue colors in the pavilion and the fence/railing in front of it. The shading gives that red pepper good form. The bell is great, I'd like to see that in person. Nice geese and floating "tiki" bar :)

Thanks, all y'all.
Joan, what clever finds. The bell is super! Great geese gestures. The tiki bar is a delight to see. You rock!! (don't guess they say that anymore)

Thanks, Ai. I spent one summer in New Mexico painting and sketching different trees. I have forgotten a lot! Ha. I was wondering about the pork balls, too. Yummy.

Wow, Ned. I like the bird feeder. A new one to me. It looks squirrel proof!

Ned: Thanks... Great job on the geometry aspect of the bird feeder. It looks challenging to me. Well done.

Ai, thanks so much. Your breakfast(?) in the bowl sounds delicious...a nice lunch for me.

Ned, when I want to sketch animals they don't even wait for me to put my pen on the paper. They move as soon as I think about doing it. I must send a message thru the air or something. Interesting bird feeder and well sketched. Do all the circular parts on the outside keep away the other critters? All those parts look like a difficult job of sketching.

I sketched this the other day but for some reason I kept forgetting to take a photo so I could post it. It is one of the statues outside in the garden near my church.
