Scavenger Hunt from Life #185: Mar 10 - Mar 22

Jo: Thanks...Lovely park and bench scene sketch ..I am chuckling with your trash can location comment. Hope your PT goes well.

Ned, Joan and all: Thanks and Hi.

Hi, Ned! Good to see you. Hope you find time to sketch.

Jo, nice park view. To me it looks so spring-like since we still have the drab winter browns everywhere. I'm waiting for some color. lol The comment about the trash cans is so true. If they aren't right on the spot some people are just too lazy to walk to them. That happens so often. Glad you were able to do some outdoor sketching.

Ai, I can almost hear the sound of the water splashing. I love anything that shows lotus blossoms in bloom. We have such a short season for them here.

Done in CP (a set from our late member, Kivrin or Elizabeth) about 9x12 inch in size... about 50 minutes...more like a drawing than a sketch...lol...I ran out of steam to push the red flowers darker...I am going to bed now.

#8 red ... flowers discarded from our local park the other day
#9 chocolate ... hot chocolate in a small red cup
#10 free space ... a puff pie on a Japanese blue plate.

Ai, I like the puffy flowers and the puff pie too. The little red cup is lovely with the design inside. You did a good job on the pattern on the plate too. Nice!!

We've been having chilly weather the last few days and a lot of wind. I went out yesterday and today and sketched from the car. This landscape is down by the bay in Sayville. I usually sketch the area from the opposite side looking out. I thought I would do it slightly different. This is looking toward where the Maritime Museum is, but none of the boats were showing. I was parked out on the dock and of course someone found a way to park right along the edge of the dock so they were blocking my view for a while. It always happens.

12 - xeriscape - watercolors and watercolor pencils

Joan: Thanks. Beautiful xeriscape... love the reflection and the wooden fence ?... nice vegetation receding...

Ai, clever opposite of xeriscape. Nice flowing lines and a lovely setting. I like the still life a lot. Beautiful cup of chocolate and something to make me hungry!! The flowers and vase are so nice. Thanks.

Joan, your xeriscape is so nice. I like the dark shrubbery and dry grasses. Good lead in with the fence and shadows.

I sketched on the porch. The grand-dogs were here. They were both looking out and after I got the sketchbook Chewbacca decided to lay in the sun. Reese is so full of energy and was looking out at every sound. She is so black that you don't see any form so I put a bit of grey. In the Marker sketchbook with Pentel, Prismacolor and Blick markers. Number 3 yonder - Resse was looking yonder trying to see what she was hearing.

I noticed that I was working from Joan's last Hunt when I was trying to find an item that fit my sketch. Yesterday's I said was trees and that wasn't on the list so I will call yesterday's, number 2 - my free space. Sigh......

Jo.: Thanks...Take it easy...enjoy your art time...Love the pooch's view point in markers and happy colors...

#11 free space #2... Thai MayongChid fruits, peeled and cool for your cuppa tome ...wc+ pencil in a double page spread of 12*12 cm. ArtCreations sketchbook

Ai, thanks. Your cup and the fruit looks very refreshing. Nice that. you have so many places to go out for coffee and a treat and be able to sketch there.

Jo, I love the sketch of Reese at the window and can imagine her popping up at any sound to check things out. Fun to have some activity to sketch. I have sketched something from the wrong hunt so many times...and I try to keep a list in the car to remind me. It works some of the time. lol

Thanks all.

Ai, the snack is great. Especially the cup, saucer and spoon. All lovely.

Joan, you made me laugh. I love the red car of course.

Hi, Ned, Joan, and Jo: yesterday, the first day of spring, was our 23th year anniversary. Tone and I and the girls went out for a nice dinner but I did not sketch any. Just glad we are having a good meal together.

Ned, always a surprise when I look at the date! If Gene didn't have PT I would never know what day it was. I'll go check your Hunt.
Joan I'm smiling.
Ai, congratulations. A nice way to spend the anniversary. 🌹🌹💕

Well, it's still before noon on March 22 in Bangkok. The new hunt is posted here.
There is still another day left for this hunt too.

I had to put plumbing because I've been under the kitchen sink replacing a water spigot. After installing it yesterday, one of the old parts leaked so I had to replace more of it today. Not sure I want to look at it any more to sketch but we'll see. Maybe I'll sketch the new spigot instead of the plumbing that goes to it :)

Sounds like a plan! See you on the new Hunt.

Ai, once again Happy Anniversary! 29 years...yay!!!

Jo, thanks for hosting this hunt. I'll see if I can sketch something else to add to it. I never got to sketch yesterday. I spent the day at a hospital with a good friend.

Ned, I hope the plumbing problems get solved soon.
