Scavenger Hunt from Life #185: Mar 10 - Mar 22

Joan: Thank you.... Yes, I did try to do continuous line sketch. Applaud for your Oculus and view out. Super view out, and the glass looking out feel. Awesome... Now I just went Google Oculus some more. The last I checked in NYC was 2012, when I sketched a bit with you at the Grand Central, and on the High Line. Now, things must be drastically change.

The above view out from the Oculus also has

Jo, thanks. The outside of the Oculus was so hard to sketch. Parts of each piece ware straight and then they curved and were straight again. I am no architect for sure. lol Yes, there was a sedan parked all by itself. It must have belonged to someone important because it was the only car parked anywhere near and it had no tickets.

Ai, thank you. I've never sketched in the Oculus before. I've just walked through it from the subway and then on to someplace else. Everything downtown is so different...always changing. The High Line is now huge and extends really far. I end up going into Grand Central more often now, because they opened a second terminus for the Long Island Railroad there. Now we can go to Penn Station or Grand Central. The LIRR comes in something like 13 floors below street level. There is an escalator that you take up that makes me very dizzy. lol

Today I went to one of the local St Patrick's Day parades.

Well falling behind as usual lately. Did sneak in a pen sketch tonight.

Hi Ai and all the rest.
Joan, ah, fun parade. I don't think there is one here, but the bars all serve green beer, etc. @3 had friends in Bolivia that always had a party and served Reubens and green beer. Where I learned to love Reubens. She made the corned beef and sauerkraut, so yummy. Your sketch is fabulous.

Fletch, love the envelope. I need to get with it! I liked my Strathmore watercolor sketch stuff but never liked the Pastel paper and the drawing paper was OK, not great. Anyway fun to see a sketch from you.

We didn't do much. Baseball time and that takes time even when we don't go to the actual games and watch on TV. Horns are doing well. Hook 'em!

Fletch, good to see you and your envelope. Nice indication of the design inside. Hope all is well with you and Sharon.

Jo, thanks. There is a whole parade schedule for the nearby towns. They take turns and someone has a parade each weekend for about a month or maybe longer. They do that so that the bagpipers and some individuals can march with several groups. Also, many of the fire departments take part in more than one parade. I'm not a fan of corned beef, but Jerry is. I get him all the ingredients for rubens and he cooks the corned beef and makes the sandwiches for himself. I would only want the sauerkraut, cheese and the mustard. lol His birthday is on the 17th so we usually go out for dinner...but for something other than corned beef. I may try to get to the parade next weekend in Patchogue. I usually go so I am somewhere near the end of the parade. That way some of the bagpipers come back in my direction when they are done because the bars and restaurants are in that area. They hang out a while and I can sketch them if I'm fast.
