Scavenger Hunt from Life #181: Jan 21 - Feb 2

Jo, I like the sketches. The coasters look like a great momento from Peru. I just glanced back to see how they were protected and like the idea of glass...easy to clean. I'll have to sit down and do my keys. Sounds so easy but it means getting my lazy body up off the couch and digging thru my purse. lol

Robin, I have no idea how to do what you're asking. Maybe Fletch or Pine Cone would know.

I did go out in my mobile studio yesterday to sketch. It was just barely warm enough to sit with the heat turned off. This is an entrance to a small marina in Brookhaven. There are no boats inside so I guess nobody is in any hurry to get inside.

Robin - Assuming you mean hoe to scale to fit creativespark size limit. There are probably dozens of ways to do it. These are the two I use:
1 the simplest is to create a New Canvas the size you want to post. I used 800 pixels square and name it Online Format. When you save as JPG it is ready to post.
2 Use whatever Procreate canvas you want. Share as normal selecting JPG and Save Image then use another app that lets you resize. I use Art Studio but there are plenty of apps that lets you resize.
Hope that helps.

Joan apologies. I got gwrapped up in trying to answer Robin before head out to PT and dentist. Your snow tracks are great. I see this after working trying to capture the depressed look that actually has layers of depth, You did it well. The grasses and distant trees are now part of your signature.
Fletch

Fletch, I hope your suggestion to Robin helps her. It is all Greek to me. lol Thanks for the comment about the snowy sketch.

Jo, thanks so much. The cold weather is keeping the snow from melting, so I can paint & sketch more before the snow disappears.

Today was another very frosty day and except for places where they are hauling the snow out of some of the downtown areas, the snow is hanging around since it is too cold to melt. I went down by the bay to do a waterscape but except for small spots of water, most of the bay was pretty frozen.

I went to Point Reyes today to take a photo but sketched too! :)

#1 landscape, cypress tree tunnel at the old Marconi radio station, the trees are about 100 years old.

Ned, glad you sketched too! Love the sketch of the tunnel of trees. I like your shadows on the path and how you used the paler ink wash in the distance. Well done!

I like Creative Spark and will be sad to see it go.

I just looked again at Wet Canvas and made a post. The site is slow and clunky, and lots of older posts are missing, but it does seem to work again. My ad blocker seemed to be working hard, but I didn't turn it off to see how bad they are.

I guess we could consider moving back there. I'll just follow wherever you folks go :)

Joy, I haven't really checked out Wet Canvas since we moved over here. I will have to go check it out. Like Ned said, I'll follow wherever everyone goes.

Joan, the waterscape is so nice. I just cannot imagine..... Pretty. The park with walking trails is great, too. Both have great shadows and textures.

NedL, mmm, the trees have such good gesture and distance. Thanks for the photos, too. Applause.

And I will go with the crowd to wet canvas or ... I won't go to facebook. I was banned. Evidently I put my birthday in wrong on one of my updating info. I only had art so it wasn't content. It doesn't tell you why, just goodby.... This was a few years ago.

Hi everyone 👋

So sad to learn that CS may now be the one to fall, after saving us 🥹

I’ll go wherever you guys go also, but like JoC, I will NOT go to Facebook. I don’t have a Facebook account. I refuse to create a Facebook account. 🥹

Please, I don’t want to lose you people, and I don’t want to lose this reason to do a bit of art. It’s been a saving grace to be here among you, and I love you all so much ❤️

Please…..

... I won't go to facebook. I was banned.....
haha! That made me laugh out loud :) Typical. I avoided FB until my friends who make calotype photographs all moved there, so finally I made an account. Don't like it and only look 2 or 3 times a year. I won't go over there either. Sounds like I'm not the only one!

Joan -- I like forest scenes with lots of verticals like that. I like your sketch ( even if it looks COLD! ) We have some like that with eucalyptus and sometimes willows, but not like back East. Here, it's mostly oak forests in the drier foothills, redwoods and firs closer to the coast, and mostly pines up in the mountains.

Rested at a home orchard canal bistro, called KruaKlong-X-Riverly, Bangkok... enjoyed their fresh coconut and Thai colorful lukchub sweet (sweeten mung bean paste shaped and colored into small fruit shapes) .

#3 waterscape ...Thai canal scene on right
#4 smooth, lukchub, Thai colorful desserts
#5 healthy...coconut water, very refreshing in any hot day
#6 made of metal...a spoon, on right of the coconut
