Scavenger Hunt from Life #178: Dec 16 - Dec 28

:) when I was looking on my phone I missed the entire 2nd page!

Ai -- love that giraffe!

Joan those pierogi look delicious! I have made several batches of "farmer's cheese" lately, but I use it to make casein, which I've been using to size a new kind of paper I'm trying to work with. I'm going to make some to eat soon! Overall we've had a pretty mild winter so far, but a strong series of storms is coming through right now... last night a couple big trees came down in our yard... fortunately no bad damage, but it's a big mess for me to clean up.

🎅 Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas!

Fletch, thank you so much.

Hey, Ned. Happy Holidays back to you. I love your sprinkles. I was thinking cookies or old ironing days when we sprinkled the clothes to iron them. Ha. I love the scenery and the interesting coloring. I was worried about you and the storms.

Hi to Joan and joe1lt and all the rest....

We have had a great day around here. We ate way too much! I got a new Ohuhu sketchbook as mine was about full.

I sketched on Monday at Pt on my iPhone. I forgot a sketchbook. Gene wanted to leave early so I didn't clean up the sketch much. I looks better tiny on my phone. Ha.
Number 4 or 5 green - a little mini aloe plant (I think) It is about 6 inches tall in all with the app, Brushes.

I went out sketching with my art buddy at an orchard home stay and cafe, west-side suburb of Bangkok.

#9 Zephyr (something that blows in the light wind) -- branches and leaves, row boats move with light winds and light waves....This one is more of a plein aire painting as it took quite long for me ...more than 1 hr ..size 8*11 inch..wc&pencil

Jo, nice digital sketch of the plant. A new sketchbook...whoo-whoo! That's always exciting. I think this is the first year in a long time I didn't pick out any art supplies for Jerry to give me for Christmas. What's up with that? lol

Ai, I like your rowboat sketch. Nice that there was such a good vantage point where you could sit and paint. Love the lotus pond painting. All the greenery is great!

I started a sketch on Christmas Eve, but I haven't finished it yet. Maybe I'll get to it this morning. We were out all afternoon yesterday and I never sketch at my sister-in-law's house for some reason. I should because there is lots of new material there. We are expecting a snowstorm tonight into tomorrow, so maybe I'll be sketching snow scenes. I hope everyone had a great Christmas. We had fun and a nice dinner. Sharing time with family is always special. See you later.

Joe1: Merry Xmas. Happy Holidays.

Jo: Wonderful green aloe in purple background.

Joan: Thanks so much. I hope the snowstorm won't cause any trouble.

Ai, the Zephyr painting is gorgeous. You gave the leaves so much movement. The cottage is so special. Thanks.

Joan, wow on the nativity. Clever sub for upside down. Made me smile.

We have been eating and visiting, playing cards and games. The kids did most of the cleaning up and cooking after Larry and I did the "time consuming" part. Really good few days.

No sketching today...just went to see my parents....but when we got home...the mailman gave us these delights.

Joan & Fletch: Thank you so much for wonderful pretty holidays cards. They arrived here so quick, esp. the one Joan dropped on Dec 18.

Jo: I am glad you have a wonderful relaxing time with everyone.

Happy holidays to 😘 to all here too.

Ai, thanks. I'm glad the card got to you in a reasonable time. I usually try to send it early, but things got a bit delayed this year.

Jo, thank you. I always wanted to do the whole Nativity set but I look at all the pieces and change my mind. As it was I left out the cow because I couldn't see her tucked behind the angel and St Joseph. lol

We had some snow that started last night about 6 PM and continued until sometime this morning. I think we got about 5 inches. I put on my winter gear, opened the garage door, relaxed leaning against the edge of my open trunk, and painted the view. The maintenance crew is really good at going thru the parking lot and clearing it. The residents are responsible for clearing off their cars. Luckily mine is in our garage. I think I would need a stepstool to get the snow off the roof of my SUV. It is taller than me. lol

Ai, thanks for sharing the cards, hope your holidays are great.

Joan, the snow scene is so great. Love the cars and the scene. I can't imagine dealing with snow anymore. The nativity is better every time I look and so special to Christmas.

Hi Jade and all the rest. Thanks always.

I thought I should get another sketch for the Hunt. We opened a 5 pound sack of potatoes and there was a "heart" inside. How fun is that?
Number ? apple - sub potato
Number ? red - napkin holder and place mat On my new hand me down iPad with the App Brushes and Apple Pencil and fingers.

Joan: Well done snow scene with cars... love the composition.

Jo: Wow a heart potato... who knows. Well done of capture this cute one.

Jade, Fletch, Ned, Robin, PineCone, Joe1, and all... Have a great happy holiday time.

Jade, thanks!

Jo, lol I pretty much don't deal with the snow. Having a garage is a big plus when it snows. Since I don't HAVE to go anywhere, I just wait for the maintenance crew to do their thing. That potato is so unusual! Nice sketch of it and the napkin holder.

Ai, thanks. I pretty much just sketched what I could see from the garage door. I didn't plan on getting my feet in the snow.

Fletch, hope you are enjoying the holidays!
