Scavenger Hunt from Life #176: Nov 22 - Dec 4 , 2025

Jo, furniture shopping is fun. I need a new table/cabinet for our printer. Never seem to get inside the stores to look for one. I like your Mexican character on the counter. I'll meet you for a margarita!

Ai, nice line sketches of the elephants. Did you do continuous line sketches?

Broke with the familiar and went to small one signal town local cafe ….

Joan: Thanks. They were not quite continuous lines.

Robin;
Wow...love the combo of colors and happy lines. The texture of lighting and decoration is very good.

Ai - Your students give you lots of practice drawing people. Excellent work. Neat contour drawings of the elephants

Joan - How in the world do capture perspective and proportion doing continuous line? Amazing! The “regular sketch” in Procreate is great.

Jo - Your marker work looks more like watercolor. Also looks like a fun place to eat. What exactly is a puffy taco. Have seen hard and soft tacos but never puffy.

Robin - Fun interior sketch. Like the splashes of color. Hope the food was good.

Keep sketching and learning
Fletch

Today is a pretty amazing day. Sharon and I are celebrating our 59th wedding anniversary. Hard to believe.

Robin, the unfamiliar is fun...lots of new things to sketch. Looks like they are ready for the holidays with the festive garland and the snowman. Nice capture of all of it.

Fletch, congratulations on your 59th anniversary!!!🍷🥃🥂🥂🍾 Hope your are celebrating in style...maybe not quite with as many cocktails as I gave you. Where was the wedding? Do you have a wedding photo to show us?

Joan and Robin, Thsnk you. We got married in the church at Immaculate Conception Monastery in Jamaica Estates, the reception was at Westphal Restaurant on Atlantic Ave. We tried to go back to dinner there a couple of years later and it was a funeral parlor .LOL

Joan - Your continuous line work is impressive. Mdic pencil sounds and looks fun.

Going to post the next Hunt as it is 4 December in half the world about now.😎

Keep sketching and learning
Fletch

Fletch: Thanks. Congratulations on your 59th year anniversary. So happy to hear that... Wish you and Sharon have a great fun celebration with lots of smiles, and laughs.

Hope this works 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Fletch, I checked out the website for the church since it didn't ring a bell. Nice! The fact that the restaurant was a funeral home when you went back made me chuckle. That is a little strange. Will go check out the new list.

Ai, super lines on your elephants. So cute.

Joan, thanks. I will meet you for a margarita anytime! Your bottles are so smooth and lovely. I like the sneaker. Fun! Awww, on Mickey. So cute and fun. Great continuous lines.

Robin, fun to see. Nice you found a chance to sketch. Love the whole scene and snowman!

Fletch, thanks. The puffy tacos are corn tortillas that are fried and they puff up but don't get hard. Then filled like regular tacos. They are easier to eat folded than hard corn tortillas. I'll take a photo next time. They were fluffy around the edges. Don't know how they do that. Ha. Many congratulations on the anniversary. Hugs to you and Sharon. Fun about your restaurant turned to a funeral parlor.

I sketched at PT today in the small Canson sketchbook with a fine line Sharpie. Very quick as I imagine there is a privacy thing there....Well you wouldn't recognize the men anyway. Ha.
Number 4 person or people and Number 5 festive - small trees and red glass on the counter.

Jo, when Jerry saw me sketching Mickey, he wanted to know where he's been. For some reason he was tucked in a bookshelf in the spare room. He hadn't been out in a long time. The puffy tacos sound good. I don't know if I've seen them here. Your PT sketches always make me smile. A friend of mine went to PT and kept a sketchbook tucked away there so she would always have it when she wanted to sketch. I was never able to sketch when I went to PT...always moving doing something they wanted me to do. I guess it is easier if you are there with someone else who is getting the therapy. I like the festive decorations and the people.

Jo - Good use of sketching at PT. I tend to read as I get about 45 min uninterrupted! We went PT today. No holiday decorations but Sharon got a birthday card and we got an anniversary card, I have not put our tree up yet. Have decorations up outside but inside so far I have only put out a small ceramic tree. I gave up o; hard tacos as I end up with most of filling a broken taco pieces on a plate. The soft ones you can tuck, fold and squeeze to actually eat as handheld.

See you all in the next hunt.
Fletch

Thanks, Joan. I try to take a small sketchbook with me or the coasters. I haven't sketched on a coaster in a while.

Thanks, Ai. And thanks for the Hunt.

Fletch, thanks. Here breakfast tacos are made with flour tortillas unless you ask for corn. We always called something wrapped in a flour tortilla a burrito. Texas has to be different. These puffy tacos have soft fluffy corn tortillas. I didn't want to ask if they had flour to keep them soft. I'm gluten sensitive so avoid flour when I can, a little won't hurt me like the battered french fries once in a while. I didn't want to know so I wouldn't feel guilty eating them. I'm not a fan of hard corn tortilla tacos either. Ha.

See you all on the new Hunt.

Ai — Thanks for hosting this fun event 👏

Everyone - Your art has lifted my spirits every day and helped me with a lingering cold. I loved every sketch, and wish I could have commented more 🙏

Thank you all for your kind and encouraging comments on mine….. you keep me going ❤️‍🩹☀️😍
