Scavenger Hunt from Life #164: Jul 01 - Jul 13

Jo, I like the playful look to your composition with the egg beater and the pear sitting on the napkin. Now what can we whip that up into??? Nicely sketched.

Fletch, I forget that most of the country probably doesn't understand what a Bronx cheer is. lol

Ai, is a croffle a mix of croissant and waffle? Looks yummy. You did the design on the cup of matcha so well. You would make a good barista. Have fun.

Last night my sketch group met to listen to and sketch a Fleetwood Mac tribute band in the park. "The Chain" sounded pretty good. I focused on them as well as the couple sitting in front of me who had a bag of treats on their little table.

15 - snack - watercolors and ink

Joan- Keep up with the super band paintings and you could end up as an official band artist! Really great.

Ai - The drink looks like a work of art itself. Most of your paintings make me hungry besides being enjoyable to look at.

Jo, Robin, Pine Cone and all peeking in 👋🏽👋🏽

Keep sketching and learning
Fletch

Thanks, Fletch. I enjoyed being out and I do like red things.....ha.

Ai, so wonderful to have some time off. The craffle and matcha look delicious. The boats are fun. I like the speckles for texture and rocks. Well done!!

Joan, thanks. We don't cook fruit much anymore do we? My mom always cooked apples and prunes and other fruit when we had it. I love your music scene with the colorful chairs and all the detail. You put down history!

Hey, Robin. Hope you get to sketch, too.

I have respite again tomorrow so may try again to get the car washed. It mainly needs cleaning inside, that was Gene's job. Ha. It will be too hot to sit outside I imagine so may visit the foundry gallery. We shall see.

Thanks so much for kind support : Jo, Fletch, Robin, PineCone,Ned, and Joan

We will be here 2 more nights at Hua Hin... but it is also hot outside, and we will see how much I can sketch more.

Joan: The band sketch is superb. I don't know how can you do that during performance. I just learn too that croffle is a mixed of croisant and waffle. I normally just eat without thinking much of it....lol

Jo: Wonderful sketch of the car and truck/suv in the parking lot too. Nice colors in the pear and lovely red egg beater.

Fletch, maybe I'll become a groupie! lol

Ai, I love the boat painting. I like how you did it at low tide showing some of the sand. Nicely done!! Enjoy your time there. Thanks for your comment. Since the concert lasts almost 2 hours it is possible to sketch all the musicians if they aren't blocked by the other performers. The drummer is always the hardest one to capture. They are always all the way in the back so you can usually only get a small view of them between the others.

Ohhh, I am sooooo rusty and my inner dialogue sucks..wrestle with justify taking the time…gotta push thru the mud….gonna keep on though…nothing nourishes me like sketching, painting, doodling…..yeah…man i am gonna dig sketching a egg beater….(y)

1 house interior
2 animals frog , cat
3 keys
4 watering can

All: Thanks for your kind comments on my boat. Well I did not sketch yesterday... but having some simple fun and meeting friends I havenot see for some time. So that was good things to do in Hua Hin too.

Joan: Thanks for the concert sketching tips.

Robin: Glad to see your dancing lines in your sketches. Thanks so much for putting my postcard in the frame... I am blushing. I am having fun making them...

Robin, your key holder is so cute with the big-eyed frog and the kitty. Nice hatching on the watering can. Love the view of the interior of the house. Ai's sketch looks so good on your wall!

I think I mentioned that I was working on a commission. I brought it to the client today and she was thrilled. It is a gift for the gentleman who is driving them in his truck in the pride parade last month in Patchogue. Cheryl is standing in the back and her wife, Lorraine is seated inside next to the driver. I had to combine several photos to get what she wanted into this 5 x 7 painting. Her friend who drove them owns the restaurant which is in the background of the piece. That was a location change because the parade was in another town, but she wanted it with his restaurant instead.

Ai, thanks. Looks almost like you're on a dessert/snack tour. The drinks and the treats are so special!

I tend to get lazy about the things I can sketch indoors. Doing a continuous line with a few items seems like the best way to get some them done.
16 - egg beater - continuous line
17 - watering can
18 - rock
19 - fork
20 - art supply

Robin, I sound like a broken record, but I do love your hatching. The watering can is amazing. I like your keys with the dodads on them. (that word was on Jeopardy! the other day. Hadn't heard it in a while.) Your room looks so comfy and interesting. Oh, look at Ai's painting. Cool. I got apples ... surprise.

Joan, what a fantastic commission. You did a super job on it. Joan, look at you go. Almost to finish, I like your red lines.

Ai, fun of Tone and the restaurant scene. Your drinks are works of art! All look so yummy.

I sketched at PT and then the car wash. In the Ohuhu sketchbook with a Micron 03.
Number 7 keys and Number 8 outdoors - confusing but is the awning of the car wash, the frontage road and the freeway in the back. Trees and sign next door.
