Scavenger Hunt from Life #163: Jun 19 - Jul 01

Joe1 : hi!

I asked my mom about that pitcher and she said it's one of her favorites but she doesn't know the story behind it.

joe1lt, ahh, so great to see and hear from you. Good luck on your nursing and we look forward to the time when you are drawing again. I always miss Eyore! Thanks for stopping in!!

Joe, it is good to see your post and hear how life is going for you. It sounds like the nursing course is keeping you very busy. Thank you for checking in with us. I will be looking forward to August when you can connect with us more.

Ned, I'd bet that pitcher has stories to tell. ;)

Yesterday I went to the farmers market in Islip. The weather was a bit iffy in the morning so I decided to sketch from my mobile studio. I parked right by this interesting booth with the logo, Hydro Peppers. The guy had a lot of traffic stopping by, so after I finished sketching him and his booth I got out of the car to check out what he actually had. He had bottles of hot sauce and pepper jelly. I asked him how hot the sauce was and he said it was relative and asked what kind of hot sauce I like. When I told him I use ordinary hot sauce he said this was a bit hotter. There was a couple there and he asked us if we wanted to try it. He gave us a tiny plastic cup with a few pretzels in it and then sprinkled a few drops of the sauce on top. I think that was one of the hottest things I ever tasted. My tongue was burning!!! I'm glad he only gave me a few drops. He did say that the pepper jelly wasn't as hot, but I had no interest in that. The sauce was definitely too hot for me to bring home. lol

Oh no! Joan, check your attachment I want to see the pepper stand!! The direct watercolor is beautiful.

Joan, I saw the Hydro Pepper on my iPad earlier but not on the computer, it was fun to see.... This of the trees is excellent. Love the fence. On the way to PT Friday I saw a similar fence with a bit of curve on the pickets between the posts and I thought, "Joan would do that so well." I love it. (flag, too.)

Ned - agree with the group the pitcher is well rendered and must have some great stories. Love old handmade items of such beauty especially in ou plastic cookie cutter world.

Joe - Sounds your progressing well with the course. Good luck on the exams. You have us all looking forward to August and seeing yor art again.

Joan - for some reason I cannot see the peppers, but enjoyed the story. Hope your tongue has healed. 😊. Love the depth of field Lin the house and tree painting.

Keep sketching and learning
Fletch

Joe1 and all : Hello.

Joan: Wonderful directwater.... I ditto on your master of picket fence and all the classic building structures. I hope you repost hot and spicy again, as I could not see it when I click the attachment.

Well I did not do much art, as I went back to work to catch up with 8 business days I had gone.

...

The house I'm staying in was my great grandmother's summer Cottage. This jug has been on the Shelf as long as I can remember. I think it's hammered copper. I had a bit of trouble with the tones and I couldn't believe how much the shadow changed while I was sketching it.

Beautiful.

I still have to learn how to simplify photos/refs.

Hi Marigolddd! Thank you. You are very welcome to join us here!

This isn't like me at all... I don't usually pay much attention to what I wear. But, remember those new boots I got a few months ago? I found out there is a place ( North Star Leather ) that makes belts with the same leather from the same tannery in Red Wing Minnesota used to make my boots. I thought that was kind of neat so I ordered one.

Ned, love the belt. Fun you found a match for your boots! Great drawing.

Hi, marigolddd, welcome. Join in anytime. Fun group since 2006.

Marigolddd!: Welcome, just try with any thing you like, as simple as you wish, as fun as you feel... It is cozy here.

Ned: This is so neat sketch of the belt.

Robin: Wowza... I hear the energy... klag klag klag...with all those buttons... Love your recording of them.
