Jo, I'm glad you found a little time and inspiration to sketch. Nice view of what is under the table.

Ai, your sketches of the "under" came out nice...and colorful too. I see you have a dog there to sketch...what a bonus! Good find for the eagle.

Ai, awww, fun finds. Always fun to find new items. Love the flowers, fruit and teapot. The sweet puppy and bird in action. Applause.

Short comments, I'm on my phone!

Joan- - the watermelon looks delicious, great job on the foggy scene. Good zig zag find! The train and Street Scene are really good and the "dinosaur" made me laugh.

AI - - I don't know how you find time to sketch when you're with your family! I really like the colors and peaceful feeling of the cottage. The yellow flower and fruit are great. Nice puppy and bird too!

Fletch- - nice job on the US Navy anchor!

Jo - - haha now we see under your table! Good job on the sketch. CWS was fun to watch. I'm glad they finished yesterday because I'm traveling today and would have missed game three.

I'm in Crescent City, California On My Way North. Went out after dinner to get a walk and see if I could find an anchor at the harbor.

Ned: Thank you. I have some free time despite I am with family.... Lucky me. Great sketch of the anchored boats.... beautiful and peaceful. It sounds like you are having a wonderful trip on the west coast too.

Ned, nice sketch of the boats in the harbor. I find it hard to sketch when there are so many boats in the same view. I can't tell what belongs to which boat. Have a nice time.

Hi, Jo & Ai.

Nothing new from me...maybe today. We are having hot weather, so most of my day yesterday was spent working on a commission inside in the morning, and then keeping cool at the pool in the development. Will be even hotter today, so my day will be spent much the same way.

Joan: Thanks. Have fun working indoor. The heat wave is going up the north-east, isnt it? It is quite warm here too in Atlanta.

Ned, the CWS was fun, happy LSU won for our son-in-law. Sad to see Coastal lose after such a great year. Oh well. I love your boats at anchor. So well done. You figured out how to simplify. Applause. Have fun on your trip.

Hi Joan and Ai, Looks like you will have hotter weather than we are. Wow. Stay cool.....

I sketched on the porch early with my iPad and the app Brushes and the Apple pencil.
Number 2 yellow - the prune container is mostly yellow.

Ai, thanks. I temperature reached 98 here today. My sister in Maine said it reached 100 up there.

Jo, the pool and the umbrellas in the shade kept me cool in the afternoon. I love the brightness of your prune container.

Since I was at the pool I sketched a few of the items I had on the table when I was sitting in the shade.
7 - cold (my Yetti filled with ice water) - Procreate
8 - towel (sub for bedding)
9 - yellow & blue beach bag

Jo -- I like the bright colors on the digi-sketch!

Joan -- a month or two ago Fletch said he could see your style in your digital sketches. He's right! The second one really does look like a pencil sketch, nice job.

These are my favorite redwoods. I'm probably biased because my favorite river for fishing goes through them. Jedediah Smith State Park. The mosquitoes swarmed me after about 30 seconds so this was a very quick sketch and I jumped back in the car to put the color in.

Ai, thanks. Warm to hot all over. Stay cool.

Joan, nice you found a cool place to sketch. Love your pool items. The pencil sketch of the gal is so free. I wouldn't have guessed they were Procreate sketches. Well done! Thanks.

Ned, what gigantic trees. Love that you had a Jeep to sketch. Our son has one but don't know if it will be here for this Hunt. He is in New York photographing kids baseball near Cooperstown. I love your photos and sketch. Ouch on the mosquitos!!

I sketched while Gene was in PT today. In the large Canson Mixed Media book, half page. I sketched with Ohuhu pens and watercolors and Ohuhu water brushes, too. I didn't have my list and thought umbrella and lamppost were on the list. Guess that was last time. At least I sketched
Number 3 Free Space (umbrella?) and Number 4 tree (lamppost?)

Fantastic sketches: Ned, Joan, and Jo.

Joan:
Great job sketches while you were at the pool. Love those happy blue, green, yellow colors, and the sketch of the lady was amazing. Did she know that you were sketching her ? and how long did it take you to sketch her?

Jo: Nice sketch of outdoor area near PT clinic. I love the brick texture, and how you do the glass window effect.

Ned: Love the Redwood tree sketch and to have your Jeep parked under to echo its scale. Awesome. In 1996, I rented a car from SF airport, taking my other friend from Thailand for the tour of the Highway1 of California. I had my eyes on the Redwood ... but there was no Google map navigation at that time, and I took the wrong turn, in stead of going north to the Redwood, I went south bound instead. I ended up seeing Monterey a cute ocean town... but I still miss the Redwood till today. So seeing sketches from your trip really gives me happiness. Thanks.

Well not so much going on from me, just try to chat with family, and start packing as we are heading back to Thailand tomorrow.... but I did this pencil of the mirror frame that I like.

#9 another freespace

Hello art buddies - great sketches, just gives good feelings and motivation

Ai - lushus fruit, I love the grainieness the paper contributes, good job on the dog, I like the way he is watching you. Have happy time in US.

Ned-safe travels.....beautiful country up there. I was born and raised a "city mouse" in Los Angeles....I remember the first time at 13 with girl scouts trip smell a pine forest....ahhhh.....been a country mouse ever since....dang mosquitoes....

Fletch - great anchor! looks and feels like a patch......pocket sketch book scores again!!

Joan - lovely crowd sketches...get the feeling of summer outings.....yep, you are right....that is an odd building....

JoC - great sketches....oh you used watercolor...you .came prepared for action with good result!

It's hot here now!!!

Ned, thank you. Sorry the mosquitoes forced you back into your car. Nice texture on the redwood tree and good sketch of your jeep. I was lucky to see the giant redwoods on one trip out there. They were massive!

Jo, thanks. I enjoyed sketching with pencil in Procreate. It was easier than using an actual pencil.lol Nice work on the outdoor setting and the lamppost and trees. I forget what's on the list when I'm out, so I try to keep a list of only the items I might find outdoors in my purse. My memory isn't that good any more. When I was sketching the young woman I thought hair, hand, and foot were on this list. lol

Ai, thanks so much. It probably took me about 15 minutes to sketch the woman. I wasn't sure how long she would stay there before going back into the pool. As it was, she moved around quite a bit. Nice work on the details of the mirror...nice find. Sorry you aren't spending more time in the USA this time, but you had some special family time. Travel safely!

Robin, many thanks. Hope we're going to see some more of your great sketches soon.

Wrote a bunch of comments yesterday but I did not hit return and they seem to have disappeared.

Joan - Nice work on The Vessel and The Dinosaur. The girls on train is also nice. The people perspective on Under the Umbrella is spot on plus the composition draws me in. Cool pool sketch.( pun intended). WOW on the sketch of the woman.

Jo - Nice contour hatching. Your ink work is really great. Fun digital! Nice outdoor watercolor sketch. Like how you did the glass.

Ai - Love the fruit and flowers. The combination of all 3 primaries really makes it. Same with the flower and teapot. Nice line work on the eagle and the dog. Shaming me to draw more you are visiting family on vacation and getting way more done then me at home.😎 Nice pencil work on what looks like an ornate mirror. Safe trip home.

Ned - Two anchors in a great pen sketch. Bonus points! Love the Jeep and redwoods sketch! Sorry about the mosquitoes.

Robin -👋🏽👋🏽👋🏽😃

Keep sketching and learning
Fletch

#2 bedding - bedding on the bed. Two grades of graphite in pocket sketchbook. Lesson learned. It can be a challenge to draw sitting in a rocker.

Keep sketching and leaning,
Fletch

P.S. The lines on right are vertical blinds over window.

#10 bedding... Tone's sister is an avid quilter...So she put a cool quilt on top of our guest bed.
