Scavenger Hunt from Life #157: Apr 20 - Apr 28y

Robin, great sketch of your shadow! I think I have a lot more spices than you do, so maybe I'm a collector too.

Jo, thanks. Those sound like interesting recipes. I'll take the NY Cheesecake and the yummy Key Lime Pie from Florida. Hope your teams won. Glad to see that the geranium is doing better than it was for a while. They are hard to kill. I don't know if I told you this story before. The smell of the geranium flowers bothers me. I had a geranium plant in my classroom that was a gift. I brought it home at the end of the school year and put it in my apartment. I watered it and left for the summer. I decided if it made it through the summer without me it deserved to live...and it did. lol

Joan, thanks. I had a recipe for NY Cheesecake from the old McCalls magazine if you remember that far back. It had a pineapple topping and used 6 packs of cream cheese. It was rich and delicious! Your brick wall is so nice with the lovely pink tree and porch with rocking chairs. Mmmm. The waterscape is great, too. As Ned says the sky is amazing.

I sketched on the porch yesterday. A quick one before baseball. We saw "our" roadrunner dash across the yard with something in its mouth. This sketch is more from memory than actually seeing it. Not sure about the size and shapes. For the Hunt, Number 5, landscape in the Conda Sketchpad with Micron 03.

Thanks, Fletch for this Hunt. See all y'all on Robin's Hunt.

Robin - like the textures and fan movement as well as the soft colors but got the feeling of “warmth” so guess reaction is a personal one. The shadow made me smile and the ‘collection’ made me laugh. We have something like a collection as you buy a spice fir a particular recipe. Use 1/4 or maybe 1/2 teaspoon a the jar ends up in the cabinet untouched for years. Nice pen sketches.

Ai - The café view has a real spring feel. The flowers are nice.

Jo - nice bright flowers. Liked the NY recipes. Black and whites have been one of Sharon’s favorites since I met her along with Junior’s Cheesecake ( the best! ). Like the bagels they say the difference is in the water. Nothing in the Florida list even sounds interesting besides Key Lime pie. The pink tree painting is pretty but the waterscape really draws me in.

I really wanted to do something for this hunt. Found one of the pysanky eggs and sketched it. Intent was to watercolor it. This is as far a as it got.

Keep sketching and learning

Joan: Wow... amazing pink bloom, and I ditto Ned on the glorious sky of the seascape. Well done.

Jo: Love your speedy roadrunner. So cute.

Fletch: Thank you. Fantastic take on doing a delicate egg on your limited time. Thanks for hosting.

Jo, thanks. I'm surprised you got that much of the roadrunner...they're fast! Glad you "caught" the landscape too.

Fletch, a pyzanky egg with a horse decorating it would be out of my comfort zone. lol Nice that you captured it.

Ai, thanks so much.

Ned, now you're really an urban sketcher. You've done an obligatory waiting at the airport sketch. lol Great job on that! Have a safe flight.

Fletch, thanks for hosting!

Jo - looks like Joan cooked your road runner

Ned - Nice work. Really like your ink shading.

Joan actually a nice dmetch but could not let joke pass.

Fletch, I was surprised that many of the recipes were short and had things like use a yellow cake mix and add blueberries. Not very "home style". The way to cook a fried turkey in Texas took two pages, ha. I like your egg, difficult. In a little basket? The cooked roadrunner made me laugh. Will tell Gene in the morning. He needs a laugh. :)

Ned, your airport sketch with the lamp post and vehicle is so good. Whoot!! I miss traveling but not flying!!

Joan the chicken in plastic is very descriptive. I'm still smiling.

Thanks, all.

Ned: Fantastic sketch of the Airport extravaganz and the lovely Delta.

Fletch: Thanks for hosting this Hunt
