Ai, I love your cafe sketches especially the big red phone and the ceramic cat. Your cafes always have such interesting things inside them. Nice capture of the vessel docked by the ferry. You had a productive day!

Joan: Thanks...very beautiful Easter egg and glowing Hershey's kiss chocolate. Nice line in the fork.

Sorry for the passing of the late Pope after Easter.

Joan, love the decorated egg and the candy kiss. The fork has great lines.

Ai, look at you go. The phone is such a good find. Rubic's are fun. The vessel has many sails, wow. Awwww, thanks for the family photo. Beautiful...... Hugs all around.

Sketched at my footstool in the Conda Sketchpad with the Micron 03.
Number 3 something no longer used much - a cookbook. I rarely open any cookbooks anymore. Rely on memories and the internet. I don't think I ever used this one. Recipes from all the states by the Soldier's Angels.

Ai, thank you. I didn't expect the sketch from inside the cafe would be that small. Nice to see all of you together.

Ai, yes, it was sad to lose the Pope. He was so compassionate and concerned about other people. I think he was one of the best popes I can remember. He did a lot of good things.

Jo, I like that interesting cookbook. I would be checking out the recipes for my favorite states. lol Nice sketch of it.

Last night our sketch group had a model in costume. I am counting her for my...

Joan: Voila !!! Super sweet sketches of the model. I love the one holding umbrella and flowers.... all costumes are marvelous. Happy beautiful beach scene... and my fav. red train under the bright sun.... Choo Choo !!

Joan- Neat pysanky egg. When we lived in RI Sharon had a friend who painted them as a hobby. We must have at least a half dozen of them but not sure where they are buried “for protection”.😎 We also have a few pieces of Christmas and Valentines candy still around. Curious. Is that a dessert fork? Great model sketched! Love the dunes. Fun painting of the old train car.k

Ai- You get the neatest finds at you cafes. That’s a lot of yardarms girls what appears to be a two masted ship. The family photo is a much bonus.

Jo - nice work on ythe cookbook. I hate drawing text. You do it well.

Ned, Robin, and all others peeking in👋🏽👋🏽👋🏽

Jo: Glad you had a go with a nice recipe book. Wonderful lines and shading. The book sounds interesting too. I want to taste some of those recipe.

Robin: Wonderful quick sketch of the laundo place. Love your lines, colors, perspective, and the sense of "coolness" to your sketch.

#13 landscape...looking out the window of a neighborhood cafe

Fletch, thanks. Yes, that is a dessert fork...rarely used. ;) My sister in NJ wanted to get together to paint some pysanky eggs again this year. She even bought fresh dye. But my hand isn't that steady any more, so I don't know if it is worth all the bother. lol

Robin, great laundromat sketches. I think that is a good location for sketching. Maybe I'll try that on a rainy day. Your "vehicle" made me smile.

Ai, lovely sketches from the cafe, especially the one that looks like an arbor. The flowers in the container are nice too.

I'm sure I have something from yesterday to post, but I've got to get back to my pantry organization. This is one of my short breaks to rest my back. I don't know if it was worse taking things out of the closet or trying to put them back in a more organized way. Today is a rainy day here, so it is a good day to work on it. Will post something later.

Thanks all y'all.

Joan, I like your model sketches. Always fun to sketch in real life and quickly. Your landscape is lovely, I can see the breeze. Great find for vehicle and light pole. Gotta love a red train car! Happy you are near the end of the shifting in your home.

Fletch, I'm not nearly as patient with text as Joan is. I tend to change the font to my own handwriting. Ha. That is why I didn't put a photo of the book.

Robin, love, love the laundromat. Fun to see your sketchy shadow. Love the find of your spices. I have some that are from the move into this house. Probably not too "spicy" anymore. Ha.

Ai, mmmm, looking out the window is so peaceful. Good unusual find on the flowers and vase.

It is still lovely on the porch today. Wish this would be our summer weather. Sigh.... Oh, in the cookbook the New York recipes are:
Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip - a dip made with chicken
Corghan Bologna - you put ground beef and spice and bake in a roll and slice to eat with crackers
Lemon Chicken
Mamma Jen's Carne Molida
New York Cheesecake (more what I would think of for NY)
New York City Black and White Cookies
Winter Survival Pizza - this requires a pizza crust. cheese, pizza sauce and any suitable perishable food left in your fridge!

Florida:
30 Minute Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
Chicken Pot Pie
Crab and Cream Cheese Wontons
Crab Quiche
Egg Salad Destin Style
Faye's Shrimp Brochette with Butteer Sauce and Angel Hair Pasta
Key Lime Pie
Minorcan Clam Chowder
Stuffed Pickles - Dill stuffed with tuna, egg or ham salad

Hardly anything in the cookbook is made from scratch. So...... Robin are you in North Carolina? 10 recipes from there including German Chocolate Cake, Beef Stroganoff and Pineapple au Gratin. The New Mexico ones are pretty traditional with biscochitos and enchiladas. Black Eyed Peas which isn't very NM to me. Ha. Texas includes Banana Split Salad, Fried Turkey and Green Bean Casserole and some Jalepeño stuff.

It is gorgeous outside today. Sketched on the porch. Number 4 seasonal decoration, the poor geranium which keeps trying to live.
Watercolor in the big Strathmore Sketchbook.
