Scavenger Hunt from Life #155: Apr 04 - Apr 12

Ai, we had the same yr our adventures in US! Amazing 🤩. What a coincidence. I liked everything what I saw, learned and experienced that year!

Joan, in Sanford, ME. 👍

Everyone else "hi" and I enjoy seeing all your work done and posted in this thread.

Hi friends -

Fletch - very calm, even list.....the leaf with visible veins followed by hand in different positions is center piece of solid poetry....

Ai - now I got beach envy....last year I went to beach it came a hurricane.:giggle: The ocean side with man on horse sketch is so awesome/ dreamy, love it All your sketches are fun lines.

Joan - wonderful work - your comment " My urban sketching friend and I tend to sketch everything." made me laugh.....

Hi Grapes, Ned . JoC - good to be together , eh

Joan, that is an amazing sketch of the protests. Take care you don't get run over!!

Grapes, fun to hear about you and thanks.

Robin, hey there. Fun to see you, too.

I sketched on my footstool watching a Hallmark movie. Pretty much our Sunday.....baseball in a few minutes.

Number 1, hand in different positions - you know I like this one. In the Conda book with a micron 03.

Joan - Flo’s looks inviting. Do hope you catch the crowd at the opening. You did a great job with the protest crowd.

Ai - Fun pen work on the bikes. Love the splashing water at the water park. Looks like a lot of fun. You must have a big bag for your traveling art kit. The sidecar with a cover looks like a modern surrey.

Jo - WOW. Excellent. Looks like a page out of Michelangelo’s sketch book.

Robin - Nice hatching on the tea cups. Like that the design is on the inside too. Remember an aunt who had fancy tea cups like that but the design inside and out was all florals in shades of a single blue. Closest thing to veins are the sharp edges of the leaves which you captured well.

Keep sketching and learning
Fletch

Robin, aww, sweet tea cups. I don’t have any now, only mugs. Your plants are very cool. I like cacti ya know. I’m smiling.

Fletch, thanks. Made me laugh. I like that hands are handy models.

Robin, I love your decorative hanging teacups!! I like that you did a different angle for each. Fun leaf sketches!

Fletch, I doubt that I'll get over to sketch the opening day of Flo's. It gets too hard to park there unless you are a resident of that town. When I sketched it they still considered it "off season." Sketching the protest was hard...so many people in close contact and rain coming down and splattering on the sketch. I needed to be a little bit away from the crowd to show the actual size of it.

Jo, super sketches of your hand. Having it with you constantly is a big plus. LOL

Joan - interesting to hear about your time sketching the protest crowd. Nice hands. The guy in bathrobe is really great cloth feeling, The hand at chin and on knee is great....looks like he is watching you sketch out of the corner of his eye...lots of personality there in the atmosphere. :)

Robin: Thanks. Wonderful quick dazzling teacups... lovely record of plants and leaves.

Joan: Thank you. You did such a marvelous job of sketching the crowd at the protest. I hope all things will end well or at least decent for everybody. Fantastic works on hands and the digi version of the man sitting.

Jo: Your hands sketches are inspiring as well.

Fletch: Thanks so much.

Well... I am a bit tired from works again and went to drop Miss Iris doing her Computer Engineering Camp for high school students coming to her campus. Iris helped handle with the event registration. Her staff hours are brutal, the 1st day of camp we had to drop her at 4:30 am at campus... Yike !!! Her camp will last 4 days. ... So I hope to get a few sketches more for this Hunt.

Thanks, Jo and Robin!

Ai, sounds like Iris will be getting a workout this week, and you along with her if you have to drive her. Hope you get to do some sketching.

Jo, Robin & lurkers -👋🏽

Ai - I Hope the camp goes well and you all get plenty of sleep

Joan - Looking at the flower I got to thinking how much tone plays in conveying textures. The dark stem looks harder than the mid-tone greens and the greens look harder than the paler petals.

Keep sketching and learning
Fletch

Hi all y'all and thanks.

Joan, the flower is so delicate and beautiful gesture.

Fletch, you pointed out something that helps me as well. Thanks.

I sketched out on the porch this morning then worked on Income Tax and forgot to post.
Number 2 a person sitting - Gene napping in his chair. Ha I just saw I left the shoe on the stool white. He had on gray shoes. Ha.
In the Conda Sketchpad with the Micron 03.

Hi all!
I have no idea where the time goes! It seems like this hunt just started.
Hopefully will sneak one in tomorrow.

Fletch, thanks and thanks for your observations! Hope things are going OK down there.

Jo, thanks. Nice sketch of Gene in the chair. Had to laugh at the white shoe on the footstool. Why do we always notice after we have already posted the sketch? lol

Ai, nice sp. Your gel pen shades nicely. It seems my pens shade when I don't want them to, but not when that's what I want. I like your sketch of the person in the barber chair. I cut Jerry's hair so I never get to do sketches like that.

The workmen were here yesterday spackling the sheetrock on the ceiling. They finally covered up all the openings that have been causing cold drafts of air inside for the last few days.
