Scavenger Hunt from Life #148: Feb 7 - Feb 15

Thanks all on the doctor front. All in all we are OK, our primary Dr. is amazing and will help pick the new neurologist/movement disorder one. PT helps get him in a better mood. We stopped on the way home for lunch as well, but ate it here. Local bar food in a smokey old time place. Food is good but don't want to linger inside. They gave us a chocolate rose so have that for later. Maybe I'll try to sketch it.

Ai, wow, the pink flowers on the trees and the path is gorgeous. You gave the impression of the girl as well, just lovely. Ahhh, and delightful valentine from the flower girl!! Thanks for sharing.

Fletch, yes you know well how the comfy doctor goes. Our heart doc retired about 5 years ago and we still haven't gotten used to the new "kid". Ha. Your umbrella is excellent. I see texture.

Joan, you had zucchini! Love the sketch and the color added. Mmmm good. The doll is fun and well done.

Grapes your hue painting is perfect for Valentines. Love your shapes and shadows.

I sketched the valentine balloon at Pt Solutions while Gene worked out. I had a pretty good shape but wanted to add color at home.. I had to use colored pencil as the markers show through the paper you can see some from the other side. Anyway,
Number 4?? Valentine - balloon in the small travel sketchbook with Micron 03 and colored pencil with some white gel ink lines added. I lost my white and shape with all the coloring. Happy Valentines all!!

Ai, I love that the girl made the heart of petals in the path. That is so great!

Grapes, hope we see more from you.

Jo, glad you picked up lunch to bring home after PT...the chocolate rose sounds good to me. We are having shrimp cocktails, martinis and pizza for dinner. I got slices of cheesecake for dessert. Jerry has been asking for it. We had a big Valentine's Day lunch out yesterday. Hard to save the whites when you are enthusiastic about coloring it in. Looks good!

I went out earlier this afternoon and did a few quick sketches. They are small...maybe 3 x 3 inches.

Grapes - The pizza box comment still makes me smile. Odds are pretty good our boxes are littered with cheese and lots of oil but not your kind of oil. Like the theme stretching chroma and value. Well done.

Ai - the flower heart is so pretty. Clever little girl.

Jo - ‘kid’ fits many. We been going to same family dentist since 2001. He has added a new guy who I swear looks like he is still in high school! PT lifts Sha up too. Exercise never did that for me other than about 50 years ago when I was into running. Would get in a zone kind of like Art when time becomes irrelevant. Love the balloon.

Joan - You are down in miniature/ATC size and still get color and detail. Love it. Watercolorist all seem to go big. Interesting to see how well small works.

Spent my art time shopping for V DAY gift for my bride. Might try drawing the bear or balloon but no way am going to try silver and gold reflective paper or whatever that is.

HAPPY Valentine to all! ❤️

Keep sketching and learning

Joan, I love your minis. :-) Your umbrellas always make me want to sit there. The gazebo is super.

Fletch, you made me laugh out loud all by myself. I'm listening to the Longhorns playing in Arlington vs Louisville in a tournament. Horns ahead in the top of the 8th. I edited to say that I have faith that you could do the shiny paper and all, especially in graphite. Really.

I hope to sketch the chocolate rose and the turtles I rounded up tomorrow. Happy Valentine's again. Nite, Nite.

Fletch, looks like you found a few items for Sharon's Valentine gift. Nice presentation! Thanks for your comments on the mini sketches. I wanted to get a few things done so I went small. lol

Jo, thanks. You wouldn't have wanted to sit out by that umbrella. The wind was really strong yesterday. Will go over and print out your hunt.

💞 to this group.
dropping in is like coming home 🥰

and always a good antidote to artist block!
thanks for the inspiring list, joan

Stephanie. - Welcome home. 😎 like the light touch of color pencil.

Joe - Nuce digital drawing.

Heading to the new hunt. Still might draw a V-day something.

Keep sketching and learning

Joe, lovely fox 🦊 but this thread is "from life observation" so I guess you don't have other option than get your easel to the nearest forest, hide yourself well and wait for a fox to appear. 😁

Stephanie, welcome! Very nice drawings, the pumpkin is so well sketched. 👍

Jo, lovely Valentine's balloon 🎈
Thank you for your comment on my red oil tubes. 🙏

Fletch, the Valentine Gift is perfect to draw, lovely gift 🎁
Yes, pizza box .. sometimes one is forced to find alternative supports 😂 for me only qualify the frozen pizza boxes that are clean. In my country frozen pizzas are wrapped in plastic so the box itself is clean. 👍 Thanks for your comment on my Croma&value practice 🙏

Joan, thanks .. I hope to paint and post more. Love your sketches, beautiful work!

Fletch & all: Thanks for your support.

Jo: Thanks so much for the gorgeous balloon of Valentine's Day.

Joan: Thanks. You have done a storm of lovely sketches. Love the gazebo, and the umbrella. Good solid rocks.

Stephanie: Yeah... Welcome back. Nice chair, glass, and pumpkin.

Joe1: Nice work in digi... you can also sub. animal from many of your cool animal figurines too. Hope your day give you some minutes to play with art.

Fletch, Grapes, thank you so much for the kind words. yes Grapes you are right, the fox is off topic. while I was posting it I started preparing a second version for the hunt for the animal word. this is from life. (even if they are from small figurines like that of Eeyore, and small objects) a real fox is missing but it started raining and I could not go look for it 😅. Hi, I drew these from Life now.

With ballpoint on A5 sketchbook.

I wanted to tell you that then I took the exams that I had to take in the first semester, in the first year of nursing, I passed them even if with low vote.

Anatomy in front of the possibility of doing the oral to increase the grade. I was undecided because the professor is a very good teacher, fantastic, and he does it with heart, and he is also nice, so I would have liked more than the grade to be able to demonstrate that I had followed and appreciated but I was undecided and we had to send emails to do the oral and I don't have a computer to replace the broken power supply, I kept the grade. 20.

Then In a week, at the end of the month, the second semester lessons will start.

Thanks Ai, yes , sub. animal from many of my animal figurines ,

Thank you very much Ai, glad you like it, I read after publishing the figurines, yes, We thought the same thing, reading animal in the list I had thought of drawing the figurines, then I had drawn the photo of the fox just before and I thought of publishing them together, then by time I made drawings and 2 posts.

Eeyore are 4 ,he missed you ❤️
you had me at Eeyore😊

stephanie, fun to see you. I really like your free style/technique of your sketches. Makes for excellent shapes on the chair and the ellipses. Applause!!

Joe, yay! The animal is so well done, nice style, too. Good to see you. I always love Eeyore and your small objects. Good for you for keeping up with the nursing. Lots of work! Thinking of you with hugs and energy.

Ai, thanks and hi.

I sketched on my footstool. I got the turtles out about 3 days ago. In the large Canson sketchbook with the Micron 03.
Number 5 turtle - a collection of pottery ones after fired the second time. Ha and a little silver one, not sure where it came from. I have sketched them all before.

Stephanie, I'm glad you feel so welcome when you return. Love seeing your sketches. Nice work on that mug/glass and the chair. I have a hard time with chairs. The perspective is off quite often. You nailed it!

Joe, good to see your digital fox and the sketches of eeyore. They always make me smile. Glad to hear you survived the semester. I hope the second one will go well for you. Sending good vibes your way!

Fletch, you do have a collection of Valentine items that you gave to Sharon...hint, hint.;)

Grapes, thank you. I was thinking of you painting on the pizza box when I threw my empty one away today...far too mess to use for anything.

Ai, thanks so much.

Jo, nice to have the turtles make an appearance again. They are so cute and you did a great sketch of them.

Nothing new to add to this hunt. Many thanks to everyone for participating and commenting. See you all over in the next hunt.

Joe1: Congratulations of passing your nursing exam. It sounds challenging... glad you had some minutes to draw things. The animal figurines are lovely as always.

Jo: Your turtle collections are super cute. Well done.
