Santander

This is a pleinair from few yrs back when l was painting in northern Spain, in a beach in Santander.
Oil on oil paper, size 18x24 cm.

Later that day it got all cloudy and my cat decided to climb to this rock when I wasn't looking. I thought omg how do I get her back from there .. do I call emergency/bomberos. The other side of the rock was even worst. I had set to paint here next to this massive rock to get a good shade.
She was up there about 10 min. and came back the same route where she had gone up.

Climbing tall rock formations is not a requirement of a plein air companion. No wonder you were worried! What a lovely painting at a beautiful location!

The wall was almost straight up that's why I thought she would never be able to climb up there.
Yes, she had the best view.

The cloud was in the beginning the way I painted it but little by little went down to the horizon. Everything was spectacular at that beach. Water was cold because we didn't go to swim and we normally float hours in the sea. I guess the Cantabrico Sea is colder than Mediterranean.
