This sketch is approximately 5″ x 4″. I sketched it with a black ink gel pen about sixteen months ago as part of my sketching therapy series. And I added the colour washes yesterday.
The ink sketch took me around fifteen to twenty minutes. But at that time, I had no intention of adding colour. If I had that thought then, I might have used fewer lines and done a quicker sketch. That is some thing that I must check out, and also whether, in quick sketches of this type, building tones through ink lines or layered washes works better.
