I sketched for the Scavenger Hunt with pastels tonight. I haven't been painting and decided to paint, well sketch, after my husband went to bed. Can you believe I used a new piece of paper with no under painting. On Lux Archival sanded paper. Great paper by the way. I use assorted pastels.

No way - a NEW paper?! 😄 It’s a vibrant still life, Jo! The rich colors work so well together. I have yet to try that brand of paper but it’s good to know you approve.

That blue is killing me!! Gorgeous.

Congrats for working on actual fresh paper, too! ;) You made me laugh!

Love the blues. Thanks for the wider view.

Snoball, thanks. I do love blue glass and pottery so fun to try to capture the look.

Sanlynn, thank you. The glass shape is not easy. I corrected it a few times. Still not perfect. Ha.

Donna T, I thought you might be surprised about new paper. The paper is tough. Karen Margulis turned me on to it. Good for wet under paintings, stays flat. Feels good to the touch.

Terri, thanks so much. It was fun to use "new" paper, too.

Grapes, thank you so much!!

Joy, you make me smile, thanks.

JennieJo, thank you. I like painting blue and red. Apples are always a fall back item when I haven't been painting.

Artyczar, thanks. The blues are mostly Ludwig and Unison pastels. Worth the extra bucks, eh? They both have beautiful dark colors. However, if a beginner doesn't have such a selection they can under paint the dark areas with black charcoal and it blends in with the colors and makes them darker.
