Oil Painting

Oil Painting is a traditional art technique that involves creating images using pigments mixed with a drying oil as a binder. This oil, often linseed, walnut, or poppy seed oil, allows the paint to be applied in rich, vibrant layers.
My idea is to create an oil painting for my dad's birthday. My friend recommended William Vareika as the best option for oil paintings. Can you please suggest if this is the best choice and why?

I'm probably dense, but could you please clarify your question? From what you say, I understand that you are thinking of painting an oil painting for your dad. However, William Vareika is an art dealer. Does that mean you want to buy him a painting instead of painting it yourself?

I, too , am somewhat mystified by "Varrys' post . William Vareika Fine Arts appears to be his
own company !!
We are not stupid, 'Varry'

Yeah, I noticed his other posts were solely related to promotion of his gallery. Did he really think this would promote his business vs. irritate users? He was reported before, and now I see that his profile is no longer active. It is a shame that those that are maintaining the site have to deal with this, and the members waste time responding to disingenuous threads.

André, don't sweat it. One would naturally assume that a forum participant would be here to discuss art. I only knew b/c his handful of his other posts were self-promotions. My tolerance for scams is quite low. Plus, we get nearly daily calls to our landline from fake Medicare reps that are obviously in call centers, fishing for info. Jerry plays machine gun fire sound effects and tells them he is in a war zone or a turf war shoot out and cannot hear them. Amusing how they just yell over the "gunfire". To my amusement, I had a call where the scammer pretended to be my (non-existent) grandson and wanted bail money. Since I had the time, I played along for several minutes, (old lady voice, hard of hearing, etc.) finally letting him know I couldn't hear him due to my heavy metal music and that I was the one playing him.

I usually just answer, "Sheriff's office, Fraud Division. How may I help you?"

Margaret, Jerry really liked that and is planning on using it!
I once had a very persistent insurance salesman, so I said "Is this the suicide hotline?" He didn't know what to say so eventually went back to his speech so I said, "Do you know how to get blood out of a carpet?" He was silent for a minute and then asked how the blood got in the carpet. I told him that if I told him, I'd have to kill him. He stuttered around for a bit and I finally turned him loose by saying that if this wasn't the suicide hotline I would just hang up. Do you know, he called me right back?😮 I just hung up on him. 😊Yes, I can be ornery. I have another one I use about free incontinence briefs. 😆
