The scraps continue.  These aren't exactly successful but each one was a learning experience.  I've been watching many YouTube videos on oil and cold wax instruction and it seems that they all get some nice layers going and then destroy them and make mud and start over.  You really have to let the layers set up or the paint just slips around and blends too easily.  I kept to a limited palette but the phthalo blue insisted on taking the lead, maybe because it's so hot where I live and the color feels so cool. 		 it reminds me of the coast around Sydney, Australia - inviting (especially during a heatwave which were unusually having in the UK!).
