Kingfisher...Not the UB Variety!

I treated myself to an A5 size 300 gsm watercolour sketchbook with the idea of trying out some on location watercolour sketching. But, before going out in the field I thought I should try out a few sketches using the paints and brushes that I would be carrying with me. I therefore painted this little bird yesterday using the paint that I had filled in a tiny palette box several years ago, and a couple of water brushes.

Incidentally UB stands for United Brewery who produce and sell Kingfisher Beer, India’s most popular brand of beer.

A few minutes ago I borrowed a library book DEATH OF A KINGFISHER so on seeing your title, had to check it out. He's a cutie--but yes, fierce looking, as JStarr said!

I usually display my artwork at home for others to comment and critique. My wife suggested that I call this one "Angry Bird", but by then I had already posted it.
