Hi!'m new here and I wanted to introduce myself.

I'm a hobby artist living in Japan (originally from central Europe). I used to be very active on various online forums back in the day (late 2000s to mid 2010s), but almost all of those websites died down over the years. In the past few years I've been mostly using Reddit, but recently I've found myself missing the old forum vibes (a more close-knit community where things move more slowly, users kind of know each other etc).

Art-wise I'm interested in a lot of different stuff, which is my biggest problem - I have too many things that I want to try out, so I can never just focus on improving in one specific area. At the end of the day that doesn't really matter though since I'm a pure hobbyist. My genres or areas of interest include:

• Surrealism
• Fantasy and Storybook Illustration
• Art Noveau and Art Deco
• Landscape Painting
• Editorial-style Illustration
• a bit of Comic / Manga / Anime

In the past I used to work digitally, but nowadays I mostly use traditional tools ... pencil, pen and ink, fountain pens, watercolor. At work I spend five days a week staring at a screen, so I want to avoid doing that in my free time.
