I would say only pre-equaled by Orson Welles's opening shot in "Touch of Evil". And then when you consider the technical limitations in 1958 - mind-bending.

They don't make bombs like they use to. Two D cell batteries, a spring drive kitchen timer, cord off a telephone receiver, wrapped up with an old bicycle inner tube.
