I've started to take an interest in paintings bits and bobs found around the house. I can probably give the bad weather credit for this. Not much fun venturing outside in the weather we've been experiencing lately.
For the first of the paintings I did something I never did before. I soaked the paper completely for a few minutes. Then I started laying in the colours. The shape of the pear was formed both by the brush adding colour and another one which I used for mopping up and giving outline. I like how the edges of the pear is soft and "out of focus". Working with this two-brush technique was actually quite fun and I could take my time thanks to the wet paper.
The second one, the Aubergine, was painted in my usual direct manner.
Thanks for looking
