This is a quick pen and ink sketch, done with a black ink gel pen in May 2024, and is approximately 5" x 4". I used a photograph by Prithvi Chandrasekhar posted on Facebook, as my reference.

Incidentally, this bridge is not to be confused with the bridge that collapsed in 2024.That one is located at Baltimore.

I added the washes today (Jan 2026).

Great addition of the figure and simple, yet effective portrayal.

The full name of the bridge you portrayed is the Francis Scott Key Memorial Bridge. The Francis Scott Key Bridge (generally known as the Key Bridge) is the one that collapsed in Baltimore. We have been on many cruises out of Baltimore, and were on a cruise ship that departed Baltimore in March 2024. The Key Bridge collapsed a day or so after sailing. Our ship completed the scheduled itinerary, but had to dock in Norfolk, Virginia, then bus us back to the Baltimore car park. Once the debris was cleared, ships could pass through the channel again, and we have sailed past the wreckage a few more times.

Joy...Thank you for the comment, and for the information about the name of the bridge.

My wife's niece has an apartment which had a view of the Key Bridge. She was shocked to wake up and find it missing.
