Donna, I use Fotosketcher and Adobe. I forgot those. I also use public domain and sometimes I just plain out steal. Nothing is out of bounds when I look for inspirations.
I bought a hookers green and it with crimson make a lovely black.

You’re so good at making those images your own, Wayne. If I see an image my pea brain just wants to copy it. Thanks for the tip about making a good black too. I’m sure it has more depth than black from the tube.

Welcome. Yes it shades red or green relying on the mix but basically black at full value. I did this years ago and found it helped. I would take images from magazines and try to paint over them quickly with no attention to detail. The whole exercise was about speed and minimization.
