Drums...anyone?

I remember that feeling very well. Mine are not set up. They are in a huge flight case in my garage. I almost sold them some months back, but I couldn't do it. They are a part of me.

What set-up did you buy? How many pieces?

This is the set I bought.
I have an additional Zildjian ride, Sabian splash and a Pearl crash cymbal as well as
one surplus Premier Chrome snare which rings like Big Ben, on my left.

Left overs from my previous Olympic kit set-up.

Very cool, cool color too! I can tell you're a tall person.

You probably don't know the brand in the UK (or maybe you do), but I have an early Porkpie custom, 4-piece. It's very small. I'm small, and it's like a jazz set, all different colors-stained wood. Two Zildjians (70's ride and New Beat hi hats), a Paiste splash and 17" crash and that's it for me. Pics in the first post on the thread.

I sent this same pic of my new kit to my mate drummer mate Kofi, very excited by my new purchase.
He replied...as dry as ever....'the stool needs to be behind the kit, mate'!

Oh what the hell... Arty, you've already seen this.

Mickey doesn't need much of a kit. Of course he has bigger ones, but I never saw him on anything bigger than a standard five piece.

Yes, I always felt those smaller kits cut through the noise better anyway, plus, if you can't do it all simply (even the complex), why do it at all. ;)
