Drafting film

I was given some film a few weeks ago, and didn't know how to use it. I've just seen 2 works, online, one created with pastel pencils and the other with inks. Both looked stunning. Does anyone have experience with using drafting film?

Have never tried it, but wanted to. I think it would work very well for graphite or colored pencils.

I have used Dura-Lar with colored pencils. I had to use the one specifically designed for colored pencils. It has a slight texture so the pencil will stick.

this does have a slight texture. That's why I'd avoided using it.

It sounds like it may be the right one for colored pencils. I found that it would only take 3 or 4 layers so I had to plan my layers. The plus side though is that you can add color on both sides since it is transparent so that gives you 8 layers to work with. Have fun with it if you decide to give it a try.

Here are a couple of colored pencil drawings on I did on duralar.
