Do you have any business advice please?

It was $75 US total for 6 or more small paintings.

We already did the math in some previous replies to this thread.

If he is able to make 6 paintings in a matter of 1 hour, $ 75 is a reasonable price.

Anyway, I am still skeptic.

I’d love to see what he would do if he had time just to make a piece of art that he wanted to create without any pressures.

Which was my point, indeed. Personally, if I have to paint like that, I rather go for a job at the mall. (I mena, I am doing a pencil inspire by the last reply by @Enyaw 😉 and it already took hours)

By the way, I am not sure this (edge case) example is a valuable advice for @randarrington who started this thread.

By the way, I found the culprit (or one of the many possible).

Steve starts his mornings around 7 on the computer, looking up example images and creating designs on programs like Rhinoceros and AutoCAD. He feeds these sketches into his ShopBot machine, which outlines each of the wood panels he plans to paint.

Actually, it is not always like that, but he is not always author of his ideas. I read he often make sort of copies of covers (I think music album covers), etc.

Also, we are counting around 10 minutes or less of work (distributed like in a pipeline) per painting, but no one is counting how much time he spends in the morning on the computer?

And more: does he spend 8 hours per day, or he is the typical Stakhanovist who barely has a life?

What is the point of painting things that I didn't even plan (enough) and I can barely consider my creations?

I don’t care what this guy does or if he is total bullshit or not. In the video above it says he makes 250 pieces a week. So now we are down to 28 on a good day. That is a whole different story than 75 a day. I think it’s great he got something that works for him and he has made a name for himself. He has books and before long I would bet a documentary. I could not do it but that’s fine too. More power to him.
