Holy WOW! I can't stop staring at that fog through the trees and that sky. Simply gorgeous! ♥️

What is Stradano Lino canvas? I'd love to know. Will it help me paint anything as good as this? Ha.

A stunner!! Very atmospheric. I can feel the soggy wetness of the snow by your inclusion of the warmer, melted areas under the foreground trees - a very familiar sight. Perfect!

I'm also enjoying that yellow-gray sky. Great work!

Arty, thank you!
Stradano Lino is a very "polished" and soft oil primed canvas, meaning it does not have "tooth". That makes painting with oils tricky because we as oil painters should have a canvas with tooth so that paint sticks deep into the canvas - that way in time being paint won't drop/peel off the canvas - that's after hundreds of years of course, I suppose.
It's a good canvas, I enjoy painting on it and I thought I would order more but I never did, tho I should. I ordered an entire huge roll from an art store in Florence called Zecchi. I think it's their own canvas. It came in couple of days to my front door after making the order, that is a shipping from Italy up to northern Europe crossing all thru Europe.
I painted this painting wet on wet.

Terry, thank you!
Often this kind of views can be quite dull without any beautiful green so I tried to find some color to the painting. Painted wet on wet and in the end got some water drops 💧 on it, too.

Grapes, beautiful depth and colours. I get what you mean about the greens but I think it lifts the scene perfectly. Well done to be out in that weather, great result.

Super painting! It looks cold and dreary, just as it should. I'm glad you didn't add any "beautiful green" to it. It is perfect as is. ❤️ ❤️

Wow, this is so very beautiful, Grapes! You really show how a damp, foggy atmosphere can be as worthy a painting subject as a bright, sunny day. I love the mood of this one!

Thanks Grapes. It sounds like I would really like that surface. I prefer a very smooth, slick surface when painting in oils. I don't like having a tooth and am not fond of canvas.
