Good morning/afternoon/evening, everyone.
This is an Announcement to let you know that some changes will be coming to Creative Spark in the next few days to weeks. We've been hard at work behind-the-scenes since the ownership switch, coming up with new ideas to help streamline a few things, and bring a few others up-to-date. We came up with a few new ideas that we hope you'll enjoy as well!
So... what to expect?
- First off, the website will remain operating while these changes are being implemented. So there's no temporary down time to be worried about. Everything will remain accessible, though you might notice a few things move around a bit as you explore the site. The overall layout of the site will not be changing, nor will there be any functional changes.
- A new Category will be coming soon! You'll see it pop up underneath the 'General Forums' Category. This Category was designed to be a new home for art Challenges going forward. The reason we decided to take this approach, is to make it easier to find Challenges – all in one place, rather than scattered around the site. This will make them both easier to find, and more prominent on the Forums page, so potential new members can quickly see what activities we have to offer outside of general artwork sharing and discussion. Please take a moment to review the updated guidelines about hosting and participating in all of the Challenges. We hope to see you there!
- There will also be a few changes to the overall Forum display. The existing Categories and Forums will generally remain as they are, however, there will be some changes as to their display order. Specifically, 'Media & Technique', and 'Genre & Style' will be moving closer to the top of the display. This decision was made based on the intended order of importance for the site.
That all said, 'Research & Discover' will still remain a Category. It will just be lower on the display page.
- A few Forums will be receiving a slight name change. Nothing major – it'll still be clear that they're the same Forums. The name changes are simply to bring them in alignment with the above changes.
- Lastly, there will be some slight changes to informational areas of the site. For example, the 'About' page, 'Rules' and some of the Category descriptions. They'll be fairly similar to what you're familiar with, just updated.
