Or, what happens when you don't know what you're doing in pastels and rub a white stick sideways over wrinkled paper. An early experiment that I keep around as a lesson.
I started with brown Kraft paper and toned it with a thin acrylic black wash, which made the paper even more wrinkled. I guess I could have stretched it like watercolor paper, but that was too much work.
16 x 20 in pastel/paper
I also didn't try finger blending because the initial acrylic wash did not provide enough tooth.
I have since learned to add grit.
