Poonga means park in Tamil, the local language in Tamilnadu, India. I made this pen and ink sketch, on location at the Semmozhi Poonga in 2014, using a Hero 578 fountain pen with a fude nib. I had got that pen only a few months earlier and it takes some time to get used to sketching effectively with it. Unfortunately, just as I felt that I was getting the hang of it, I broke its refilling mechanism.
