Line and Wash (Inktense) in XL Mixed Media sketchbook, 5" x 6", about 1 1/2 hours.
I have noticed that some of my paintings appear blotchy when I scan them. I thought it was when I used black but I think now it is just if the pigment is put on too thick. I have been working to get better control of the water to see if I can make it better.
When it was time to do the light green background, I mixed up some color by rubbing brush on pencil and adding it to a small puddle of water. It worked better than what I have done before which was to create shavings with an exacto knife.
Once the color was mixed, I brushed the background with clear water, turned the painting upside down and then added the background color, allowing it to run down. It gave a much smoother background.
