Here’s the FEB/MARCH 2026 ANIMAL AND WILDLIFE CHALLENGE

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE ANIMAL AND WILDLIFE CHALLENGE

On the first day of each month various photos
will be provided,

Please choose from the photos provided
to create any kind of artwork that you like in any medium .
Please use only the photo’s provided.

You can post at any time time during the 2 months
[and even beyond ] and if you wish, please include any
works in progress and any comments. [ It’s nice to have
a chat about the challenge ]

Patricia, these are lovely refs. Thank you for the photos and hosting!

This morning I painted with leftover paints the squirrel ref. It's quite light by tones. Next step could be to paint over with reddish/rusty colors.
Oil paints on paper support that has acrylic gesso on it. Size: small.

I really like the colours.

I'll post my squirrel WIP below and also the finished bird.

I want to get some more colour and definition on Mr Squirrel 🐿️
 
Jade, you got that look on your bird. The eye is very catching and you drew it so well.Your squirrel 🐿️ is already cute.
 
Oh thank you Grapes! The bird was interesting to draw. Patricia has chosen some excellent pictures again. It was nice to use some of my different colours. Thank you re Mr Squirrel. I need to practice building up his layers.
